Rino Solberg recognized for humanitarian contributions
Foundation appoints Rino as goodwill ambassador
With his contributions to development and humanitarian relief in Africa, Rino Solberg has been appointed the Goodwill Ambassador and Chief Consultant of the Atlantic Victoria Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on innovative thinking to support African youth. By focusing on advocacy, support for innovation, and capacity building, the foundation helps make strides in achieving social and economic transformation across Africa.
Solberg's dedication to eradicating poverty in areas of East Africa makes him a viable candidate for this achievement. Much like the foundation, he also desires to reshape African civilization by giving those in need a chance to become greater.
Business Worldwide — embracing philanthropy through entrepreneurship
In other recent achievements, philanthropist and entrepreneur Rino Solberg recently won the 'Most Responsible CEO and Forestry Industry 2017' award from Business Worldwide Magazine's CEO Awards. The award highlights achievements in philanthropy and entrepreneurship, as well as how creative thinkers can make a difference in the event of tighter government finances. The winner of this award was chosen because of his desire to address social problems and find creative solutions to help people in need.
Phase 3 of School’s Green Initiative Challenge Begins
The challenge is designed to work with schools and promote environmental awareness
The Green Initiative Challenge (GIC) has entered its third phase, during which 99 new schools will be included in the challenge. The GIC began in October 2013 between the KenGen Foundation, Bamburi Cement and Better Globe Forestry, with 81 schools in the 7-Forks area, as a way of raising awareness for environmental action. By working with schools, the project involved students and the community to plant more tree seedlings, while also encouraging the African youth to be environmentally conscious.
The partnership itself is fostered on social responsibility. Better Globe Forestry is focused on environmental conservation and sustainability, which it shares with communities. It is dedicated to the long-term benefits of environmental conservation and believes the responsibility falls on everyone to leave the Earth better than how we found it. With KenGen's assistance, the project has helped integrate planting in schools. The project intends to cover 460 acres with over 300,000 tree seedlings and over 100,000 fruit seedlings.
Better Globe Media produces media to support Better Globe Forestry's work in Africa. We welcome everyone who has visited their plantations and seen and experienced their projects to share their pictures and videos with us.
